This venue is nestled amidst well-manicured green spaces, offering guests a delightful small-town experience upon arrival. The town’s rich historical heritage is mirrored in the nearby Tri-County Heritage and Genealogy Museum, a mere eight-minute walk from the community center. Established in 2014, this museum serves as a fascinating excursion for visiting guests who wish to explore the historical tapestry of Durant.

The Durant Community Center is a versatile venue designed for couples seeking a personalized and intimate wedding experience. It can accommodate up to 300 seated guests, making it ideal for both large gatherings and smaller, more intimate celebrations. The venue’s spacious hall features high ceilings and a stage area, allowing couples to transform the space to reflect their unique style with floral arrangements and tailored decor. The warm ambiance created by the wooden floors is perfect for encouraging guests to dance and celebrate throughout the evening, supported by the venue’s large stage, which is perfect for live bands or DJs.

In addition to its indoor facilities, the Durant Community Center introduced a new outdoor seating area in Fall 2021, expanding its appeal for those who enjoy al fresco celebrations. The venue’s kitchen is well-equipped with two stoves, two refrigerators, a warming table, coffee pots, and punch bowls, ensuring that catering needs are met efficiently. For smaller events, the ballroom can be rented exclusively, while larger parties can reserve the entire facility, including the on-site kitchen. The full-service bar, available for hire, offers a variety of drinks to keep guests refreshed.

The community center is equipped with various entertainment features, such as a 32” TV with a DVD system, an excellent sound system, and a large projection screen, ensuring that all audio-visual needs are covered. Whether planning a large wedding or an intimate gathering, the Durant Community Center / Lamp Memorial Building provides a flexible and enchanting venue for a memorable celebration.
