The Lucas Farm

Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of Currie, North Carolina, The Lucas Farm stands as a testament to both history and charm, offering an exquisite venue for unforgettable weddings. Established in 1875, this 450-acre property was originally a tobacco farm and has been lovingly transformed by owners David and Rebecca Lucas Jones into a serene oasis infused with coastal allure and rustic elegance. Located just 20 miles from Downtown Wilmington, The Lucas Farm effortlessly marries the tranquility of the countryside with the refreshing appeal of the coast, providing a stunning backdrop for your dream wedding.

The Lucas Farm features a variety of unique settings that cater to any wedding vision, no matter the season. The Pecan Orchard offers a scenic, level area ideal for tented events, perfect for both outdoor ceremonies and receptions, delighting guests and photographers with its natural beauty. The beautifully refurbished main barn, with its open-floor design, tongue and groove pine ceilings, and rough-cut timber walls, accommodates up to 175 guests for ceremonies and 150 for seated dinners. This space combines rustic charm with modern amenities, including air conditioning, heating, and a patio adorned with Edison lights and a fire pit, ensuring a comfortable and enchanting experience for all.

In addition to the main barn, The Lucas Farm boasts a versatile back barn, lined with cedar siding and a tin ceiling, offering a covered option for ceremonies or rehearsal dinners. The charming Bar Shed, complete with a surfboard bartop and coolers, adds a whimsical touch, while the converted carriage house provides a fully equipped caterer’s kitchen and restrooms. For wedding parties, the 3,000 square-foot Farmhouse and 1,500 square-foot Schoolhouse serve as delightful get-ready spaces, with the Schoolhouse available for overnight stays if needed.

David and Rebecca Jones extend a warm welcome to couples seeking a private, relaxing celebration at The Lucas Farm. Their comprehensive wedding packages include 12-hour access to all event spaces, with the option for a rehearsal dinner if available. A selection of décor items, such as church pews, cocktail tables, and various chairs and tables, is also provided to enhance your event. With its rich history, versatile spaces, and stunning natural surroundings, The Lucas Farm promises a wedding experience that is both memorable and enchanting.
